History

Since 1901, Bertel O. Steen with the representation of Colt handguns, have been occupied with products for the defence and law enforcement sectors. We are today the oldest and largest company in the Nordic region, representing international defence manufacturers.

We have been involved in numerous large and important acquisitions to the Defence and Police in Norway, during the last decades. E.g.: Ula-class submarines, Heckler & Koch 416 rifles, P-30 pistols, MP5 and MP7 submachine guns, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon vehicles, KMW Dingo APCs and Leopard II armoured recovery vehicles, Mercedes-Benz police cars, etc.

We are the Norwegian representative of world class international defence manufacturers. Our portfolio of manufacturers includes areas such as submarines, small arms, military vehicles, battle tanks, artillery, ammunition, composite rubber tracks, CBRN equipment, air defence systems.

We have a strong position as an importer and distributor of products like professional lighting systems and a complete range of soldier gear to the Armed Forces, the Police and related markets. We hold several framework agreements within the defence and law enforcement sector and several of our brands are also sold through major sport retailers and to the leading professionals in the B2B segment.

We are a long-term strategic partner with the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation within the areas of maintenance, life-cycle support, operational logistics and storage. This applies to a wide range of vehicles, and other types of mechanical and technical equipment. The agreement is structured for use in peacetime and during crisis, conflict and war. The overall purpose of the agreement is to support improvements of the operational ability and availability, the flexibility and the endurance of the armed force in a more cost-efficient manner.

Our organisation employs ex. military officers from all Norwegian military branches in addition to people with background from the defence procurement agencies and the defence industry. This mix of profiles enables us to cover a wide range of acquisition programs, and to understand, analyse and interact in the various phases of the procurement process.
